Trigger Warning- Mentions of hunger, poverty, war
sometimes I feel need is never ending,
that misery and pain are beating on the world like a drum
you help one
you help two
but at the end of the day,
there are thousands clamoring
for water, shelter,
for food,
for safety and security,
and yet, every time one war ends
another knocks at the collective doors
of us that live
and I wonder
how much will it take to fix
can we all come together
and make it better?
can we?
for we can’t do it alone,
we have to be a tidal wave
that rises and rises and rises
not a droplet that falls
and perhaps it won’t be enough,
perhaps there will always be misery and need
but if we can make one smile brighter
fill one extra hungry belly
get a child to safety,
Isn’t that worth it?
Author’s Note: Life has been a rollercoaster lately, and thus I fell off posting. I started hosting webinars for charity though, and after one, no one came to the others, so I am hoping this will inspire people to help others in whatever capacity they can after filling their own cup. A wonderful vision. Far from utopian but reality captured.
Thank you
