The world isn’t grey,
It’s bright and sunny
And open
And free
It’s full of wonder and dance and music and poetry
There are ugly days
But for me
Thanks to you in part
The world can be a beauty
Yet, when it’s just you and I
Your disapproval is all I can see
How I’ve failed to be whatever would make you happy
(Even if I know nothing ever will)
And then
The world is grey
It’s not a noir movie grey
But the grey of a broken heart
Which is questioning
Was I even someone you could love
In the first place?
