Intention

Slow walks across the beach,
It’s the beauty of nature and soft moments in life for me
On a vacation, yet working they say,
Unable to see the joy crafting poetry brings to me
The thoughts captured from these pastel skies
Shining on me.
The waves rush and I smile,
The urge to swim, to ride, to battle the waves is strong,
But deeper is the inane yet perhaps inborn voice to walk into them
To walk, walk, walk
Till the horizon and me are the same
And then surrender to the water
To feel that peace
Yet the knowledge that peace is truly attained at the edge of the beach,
In survival instinct tempered by morality and joy and community,
Stops me,
And so I return to pastel walks on brown sand
And read books, hold conversations, and consume content to craft poems and thoughts from the core of me.

Author’s Note: I had lots of fun at the beach, just intentionally spending time in nature and being myself. Don’t worry, I didn’t spend it all writing poetry, even though that’s great, though I couldn’t stop a few verses. Wish to support my work?
