eagerness

eagerness

/ˈiːɡənəs/

noun

enthusiasm to do or to have something; keenness.

I always knew what eagerness meant,

That urge to jump-torun-to do something,

NOW! NOW NOW! NOW! screaming in my head

Like propulsion at my feet, ready to fly at any given notice-

NOW! NOW! NOW!

I always knew what eagerness meant-

But I forgot with it came anticipation,

With it came anxiety, the nerves settling in,

I always knew what eagerness meant,

But I re-discovered, nay, I learnt what it truly means

To be eager

That day as I waited, nervously,

Ready to fly off the airplane I was seated in,

And run as fast I could,

Fly if I am able to,

Into your arms,

Like a rocket shooting out into space-

Like words flowing from ink to a page,

NOW! NOW!NOW!

Asking everyone I could see, how much longer, every few minutes,

And vibrating in my seat,

eagerness

/ˈiːɡənəs/

noun

enthusiasm to do or to have something; keenness.

I always knew what it meant,

But I felt it that day.
