It’s tough to be a woman in love,
Either you’re holding him back
Or you’re giving up what you want for him
Most can’t perceive a healthy relationship
Even if it smacks them in the face,
Perhaps it should, like an upsleeve ace,
Bam! Healthy relationship hits!
Reminding you that you made choices that weren’t the best
And thus now you feel slightly like a dart-board?
Younger people trying to do better, snides the aunty
But what would that achieve?
It’s tough to be a woman in love
They never let you breathe,
Calling you a puppet or a puppetter,
Even if it’s just your choice, my dear.
Perhaps it’s best to fight those battles
And see the merits of your lover
Before you too are telling someone
There’s nothing to love.
