Sunshine, Starlight

It’s the festival of wealth,
Of lights, and deepaks burning bright,
Where the city shines-
Tell you a secret?
I want to invite the Goddess Laxmi
Into my heart, into my home,
Forevermore.
But I don’t want her for just me.
No.

I pray the goddess blesses me,
And of course, my community,
My family,
But more so than anyone else
(Other than those in need)
I pray she blesses the ones who hold my heart the most
The true wealth I’ve earned in this life
My readers, my bestie, my love
Yes, all of them, in my heart them I have
But I pray she blesses somemore,
You, my friend.

So this year, I pray earnestly
If there’s a Goddess Laxmi,
May she hear this my with my aarti,

If Kuber wishes to share a bit of his treasury,
I pray he blesses you and me,
Our community-
And truly make this a Happy Diwali,
For those beyond me.

Author’s Note: Happy festive season! Which part of the world are you in and what are you celebrating? In my community, Diwali is a big festival and while I don’t believe in puja, if there’s truth to it, I hope we all get lots of abundance to share with our communities, because without you, my words are just aimless characters in the void. To share some festive cheer with me, you can like, comment, share, or read more of my work at Muses_Saga.
