They say home is where the heart is,

But my heart is divided,

Belonging to many,

Some friends,  some family,

I wonder how she fares,

The beautiful Persephone,

Torn away from one home,

Knowing she’ll return,

But will long for the other,

Wishing for Hades when with Demeter,

And missing her Mother through Winter.

I too am torn,

Between those I love,

Always missing one home,

Even when in the arms of the other.

The ground welcomes spring with her footsteps,

The world shivers with her wedding bells,

But what of her,

Caught in an eternal fight,

The Goddess of Spring,

Daughter of Demeter,

The Queen of Tartarus,

Wife of Hades.

To her, I look,

For guidance,

Hoping to learn how to navigate,

Having more than one home,

One heart,

And belonging in more than one place.
