A Choice to Help?

A new poem with a musing on the bystander effect and solidarity.

where does the line lie,
– you are not all knowing-

yet you know

when you’re part of a whole
you know. the mass helps

that makes a community,

makes us humanity.

so it’s okay to rest, right?

of course it is,

but when does it stop being solidarity

and become blurry instead-
becoming the bystander effect?

yet, when does drive become a burnt-out husk?

you are not all knowing,

you just have the best you can do,

your choices, your time,

your community,

your drive.
